THEME SCRIPTURE: 

Matthew 19:1-6 NLT

When Jesus had finished saying these things, he left Galilee and went down to the region of Judea east of the Jordan River. Large crowds followed him there, and he healed their sick. Some Pharisees came and tried to trap him with this question: “Should a man be allowed to divorce his wife for just any reason?” “Haven’t you read the Scriptures?” Jesus replied. “They record that from the beginning ‘God made them male and female.’” And he said, “‘This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.’ Since they are no longer two but one, let no one split apart what God has joined together.””

TODAY’S PASSAGE:

Romans 8:28-30

28 And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. 29 For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. 30 And having chosen them, he called them to come to him. And having called them, he gave them right standing with himself. And having given them right standing, he gave them his glory.

REFLECTION:

There’s no doubt that life can be hard and throw challenges our way that we never expected. Maybe your marriage looks way different than you pictured when you first said your vows on your wedding day. We aren’t promised that life will be easy, but we know that no matter what situation you are facing today - our God is working it together for your good. He can redeem anything that seems too far gone, heal our broken hearts and give us the strength to forgive. Everything is redeemable through Christ. So trust in the Lord today.  He is working behind the scenes in your situation for your good!
