BAPTISM
Baptism doesn’t make you a believer or offer you salvation. It’s an outward statement that you have already received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Baptism does not "save" you; only faith in Jesus Christ does that. If you have already committed your life to the Lord, then you know Christ personally. Baptism is like a wedding ring- it’s the outward symbol of the inward commitment you’ve made in your heart.
It’s a point of ACTION in our life and not just talk or words.
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”
Ephesians 2:8-9
Why Baptism?
It’s a public declaration of your new life in Christ and your commitment to being a Christian.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”
2 Corinthians 5:17
“Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”
Romans 6:4
As you go under the water, you are burying or putting under your old life. As you come up out of the water it represents your new life in Christ.
WHEN SHOULD I BE BAPTIZED?
As soon as you make the decision to follow Christ with complete surrender, you should be baptized.
"Those who believe...were baptized...that day!"
Acts 2:41
There’s no reason to delay. As soon as you have decided to receive Christ into your life you can and should be baptized.

What is baptism?
After giving your life to Jesus, baptism is the next step on your spiritual journey. Christ called it our first step of obedience- an outward expression of your inner commitment to Him.
Who should be baptized?
Every person who believes in Jesus and has surrendered their lives to be a devoted follower of Christ should be baptized.
Those who believe and accepted His message were baptized..."
Acts 2:41
But when they believed Philip as he preached the Good News… and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women."
Acts 8:12
Why be baptized by immersion in water?
The word baptize means “to dip under water". This is the example that Jesus modeled when he was baptized at the beginning of His ministry.
"As soon as Jesus was baptized, He went up out of the water.”
Matthew 3:16
The new believers in the New Testament were baptized that way as well.
"...then both Philip and the man went down into the water and Philip baptized him. When they came up out of the water..."
Acts 8:38
