Scripture - 1 Samuel 18

Observation - Saul had a plan for David. In order to marry his daughter. David had nothing to offer the princess to become worthy of her; not a title, lands, or money. He only had his skill as a mighty warrior. Saul’s plan fails when David returned from battle. God had a purpose for David, and this showed that no matter what came against him, God would protect him.

Application - No matter what, God prevails. It may not seem like that when life is heavy and hard. He may seem distant when we go through something. Isolation is what keeps us from reaching out. Instead of allowing yourself to be isolated, surround yourself with other believers during this time and allow them to pray for you and help strengthen you.

Prayer - Lord, I thank you that you are the God of the impossible. You can do anything. I want to trust in your ability and not my own. Teach me to see difficulties in my life from your perspective. Help me to focus on you and your abilities rather than my inabilities. In your name I pray, amen.
