Scripture - 2 Samuel 6

Observation - Michal saw David dancing in the streets and was disgusted with his behavior. She completely despised him in this moment. She felt that David’s behavior dishonored him and his throne. She didn’t speak out of concern for David or for her nation’s best interests, but rather out of contempt for David. Not really caring about what she thinks, David claims he’d be even more undignified and humbled before the Lord in order to truly worship him.

Application - As David worshiped extravagantly, our hearts are what God cares about, not our traditions or cultural expectations. Worship from the heart honors God, regardless of how it may appear to others.

Prayer - Dear heavenly Father, I desire to learn how to worship You as You deserve. Help me Lord to grow into the sort of worshipper that the Father is seeking – one that worships You in spirit and truth. In your name I pray, amen.
