PROPHETS - JOEL - DAY FIVE

Hello and welcome to our weekly devos following our Prophets series! These devo’s are Monday-Friday and pair with this past week’s message. Be sure to journal your thoughts, vocalize your prayers, and find God in all moments of your life this week.

THEME SCRIPTURE:

Joel 2:28

And afterward,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your old men will dream dreams,
your young men will see visions.

TODAY’S PASSAGE:

2 Chronicles 7:14

If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

REFLECTION:

If you want to be a great sports player, then you have to put in the work. You can’t show up on your first race and expect to run a record pace if you have never run a day in your life. You have to become habitual in your training, take action on a daily basis. There is a call to action in this passage. Humble yourself, pray, and seek God. This is what we need to become familiar with doing. When our sin is removed, we become vessels of the spirit of God! Until then, we are the ones missing out. We think we know best, we don’t want to let go of what we want, but until we say, “Lord, I repent”, nothing will change. Don’t skip what comes before, or you will never see what comes after.

THOUGHTS TO PONDER:

Now is the time to put the talking and reflecting into action! If we want what comes after, then we need to actually do the ‘beforehand’ work of repentance. What are your next steps in your posture of repentance?
