8 So I say to those who aren’t married and to widows—it’s better to stay unmarried, just as I am. 9 But if they can’t control themselves, they should go ahead and marry. It’s better to marry than to burn with lust.

REFLECTION:
The struggle is real, right? When you look around and see all your friends in relationships, getting engaged, and getting married, it can be super hard to think that the season of life you're in right now is good! It feels like you're missing out on something essential like you're behind in the race of life. However, as Paul says in the Bible, being single is a gift! This time in your life is not a punishment or a waiting period. It is a valuable season that can be full of growth, self-discovery, and joy.
Don't let being single become your whole identity! CHRIST IS YOUR IDENTITY. YOU ARE A CHILD OF GOD. TD Jakes points out in Woman through Art Loosed that “Single” means to be “whole.” Enjoy being a whole person.” Enjoy your singleness while you have it! It is a unique time in your life. Travel, learn new things, spend quality time with friends and family, and Do things you have always wanted to do. Embrace the season you're in! Trust that God has a perfect plan for your life, and this time of singleness is essential to that plan.
