LOVE ISLAND - WEEK FOUR - DAY TWO
Hello and welcome to your Daily Devos following our Love Island messages at 29:11! Take some time today to read through the scriptures provided, meditate on the lessons learned that are applicable for all of us from this week and journal your prayers. Have an amazing week 29:11 Church!
THEME SCRIPTURE:
7 But I wish everyone were single, just as I am. Yet each person has a special gift from God, of one kind or another.
8 So I say to those who aren’t married and to widows—it’s better to stay unmarried, just as I am. 9 But if they can’t control themselves, they should go ahead and marry. It’s better to marry than to burn with lust.
- 1 Corinthian’s 7:7-9 NLT
TODAY’S PASSAGE:
25 Now regarding your question about the young women who are not yet married. I do not have a command from the Lord for them. But the Lord in his mercy has given me wisdom that can be trusted, and I will share it with
you. 26 Because of the present crisis, I think it is best to remain as you are. 27 If you have a wife, do not seek to end the marriage. If you do not have a wife, do not seek to get married. 28 But if you do get married, it is not a sin. And if a young woman gets married, it is not a sin. However, those who get married at this time will have troubles, and I am trying to spare you those problems.
- 1 Corinthians 7:25-28 NLT
REFLECTION:
Being single means you have freedom! Don’t talk badly about your freedom in this season of life; it's a blessing; it's exactly where you need to be! If “Single” means to be WHOLE, celebrate that, wear it well, and wear it like that new pair of Fancy Shoes. Know WHO you are, WHOSE you are, and WHERE you’re going. If you don’t treat yourself well, no one else will.
Watch the way you're talking about this season. Are you honoring God in everything you do? Before you ask God for another man, take care of GOD... The person who is single should be abiding, not wrestling, in singleness. Rather than spend all of our effort trying to change our position, we need to learn to develop the position where He has placed us. Isn’t that what this means,
Philippians 4:11 NLT Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have.
—rather than trying to LEAN AWAY from where you’re at— LEAN IN! BE CONTENT — FLEX IT BABY! —Pastor Karl Feller
Let us be content in who we are and where God has called us to be TD Jakes says. “Stop murmuring and complaining. His presence is in the room! Worship Him! He is waiting on you. Take some time to worship Jesus today!
THOUGHTS TO PONDER:
Thank God for the season of life you're in! Take a few minutes today to reflect on the blessings of being single and write down three things you are thankful for. Maybe you appreciate the freedom to pursue your passions, the time for personal growth, or the chance to deepen your relationships with friends and family. Recognize these gifts and embrace this unique period as an opportunity to develop into the person God created you to be.
