PARABLES - WEEK TWO - DAY FIVE
Hello and welcome to your Daily Devos following our Prophet messages at 29:11! Take some time today to read through the scriptures provided, meditate on the lessons learned that are applicable for all of us from this week and journal your prayers. Have an amazing week 29:11 Church!
THEME SCRIPTURE:
18 “Now listen to the explanation of the parable about the farmer planting seeds: 19 The seed that fell on the footpath represents those who hear the message about the Kingdom and don’t understand it. Then the evil one comes and snatches away the seed that was planted in their hearts. 20 The seed on the rocky soil represents those who hear the message and immediately receive it with joy. 21 But since they don’t have deep roots, they don’t last long. They fall away as soon as they have problems or are persecuted for believing God’s word. 22 The seed that fell among the thorns represents those who hear God’s word, but all too quickly the message is crowded out by the worries of this life and the lure of wealth, so no fruit is produced. 23 The seed that fell on good soil represents those who truly hear and understand God’s word and produce a harvest of thirty, sixty, or even a hundred times as much as had been planted!”
- Matthew 13:18-23 NLT
TODAY’S PASSAGE:
Delight yourself in the LORD ; And He will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4 NASB
REFLECTION:
Let’s remember what to look for as a healthy Christian:
Is in community with other believers.
Feels sorrow for their sin and repents of it.
Spends time with God daily.
Finds time to serve others
Will Grow in the Fruits of the Spirit and Turn Away from the Things of the Flesh.
Will Want to See Other People Saved, and Will Also Share the Gospel.
Will Have to Engage in Spiritual Warfare.
Practices generosity.
You are not just trying to tick the boxes and call it good, that’s not the point! All of these things point back to one thing; delighting yourself in the Lord. Ultimately, God is our prize, he is our treasure! And you are his. These things help us indicate how we are doing in our faith, it shows if we are active participants or simply bystanders.
THOUGHTS TO PONDER:
Wherever you have found the condition of your heart after this week, know this, God loves you. It’s not about getting a good grade and being good or bad, it is about a God who loves you too much to leave you where you are. We aren’t in heaven yet, we all have something that God can work on, for his glory and for your good. Look at the point above and pick one that you could work on in the coming days. Remember that it;s not about you being good at it, it’s about letting God into those roots of yours and getting to work! Delight yourself in Him you’ll be amazed what is produced from that.
