FATHER’S DAY - DAY FIVE
Hello and welcome to your Daily Devos following our Father’s Day message at 29:11! Take some time today to read through the scriptures provided, meditate on the lessons learned that are applicable for all of us from this week and journal your prayers. Have an amazing week, thank you to all the mighty men of 29:11 Church!
THEME SCRIPTURE:
“We will not hide them from their children, But [we will] tell to the generation to come the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, And [tell of] His great might and power and the wonderful works that He has done.”
Psalms 78:4 AMP
TODAY’S PASSAGE:
He replied, “The Father alone has the authority to set those dates and times, and they are not for you to know. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
Acts of the Apostles 1:7-8 NLT
REFLECTION:
Final words carry so much weight in the world we live in. Whether it’s the final words of the hero in the movie or the final statement someone makes before running into a burning building; words carry a deep sense of power in those who listen and take them to heart. As we think about the idea of final words, what is an instance in your life that someone’s final words resonated with you?
Just like our passage today with Jesus’ final words to the disciple before ascending to Heaven, we can all resonate with that “final words” moment that comes to mind. Just like that coach’s last words at the end of a season or the last words that came from a loved one, we all have felt the resonating power that comes from the last few statements someone can share before a time comes to pass. In the light of your own life, what words are you leaving behind? What will your final words reflect about your life… and your LEGACY?
THOUGHTS TO PONDER:
As you take time to journal today, take some time to think of the words you want your life to represent at the end of your life. How will people remember you and how will people describe your devotion to God? Write those things down and pray that God writes those things into your heart as they come to life inside you and your legacy.
