LOVE ISLAND - WEEK FOUR - DAY FIVE
Hello and welcome to your Daily Devos following our Love Island messages at 29:11! Take some time today to read through the scriptures provided, meditate on the lessons learned that are applicable for all of us from this week and journal your prayers. Have an amazing week 29:11 Church!
THEME SCRIPTURE:
7 But I wish everyone were single, just as I am. Yet each person has a special gift from God, of one kind or another.
8 So I say to those who aren’t married and to widows—it’s better to stay unmarried, just as I am. 9 But if they can’t control themselves, they should go ahead and marry. It’s better to marry than to burn with lust.
- 1 Corinthian’s 7:7-9 NLT
TODAY’S PASSAGE:
You did not choose me but I chose you. And I appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that will last, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask him in my name. I am giving you these commands so that you may love one another.
- John 15:16-17 NRSV
REFLECTION:
Are you Bearing Good fruit? There are quite a few people in the Bible who were single and did amazing things for God. They bore fruit: Ruth, David, Joseph, Paul, Timothy, and Anna, and that is only a few of them. Some of them ended up getting married, and some of them stayed single. They were never less than, so we need to stop thinking we are, pick ourselves up, and bear some fruit.
BUT THIS is where I get distracted, and maybe you do too… The LIE of the Enemy is a distraction from the season you’re in. The lie is that he can’t use you now before things are just right, and YES, by all means, prepare for future seasons, but not at the expense of missing what GOD wants to do right now. There are so many things we can do. We need to tell the devil he is a liar and that God has me right where I am for a reason, and God can still use it!
THOUGHTS TO PONDER:
In 29:11 Worship's new original song, a line says, " Surely all of my days I will live in your goodness.” God has such great plans for us and even blessings. Are we willing to stop complaining and start bearing fruit? Take some time today to pause and listen to the song Surley (On all streaming platforms). Thank God that we can live in His goodness!
