 Scripture - 1 Samuel 4

Observation - Samuel was able to speak for the Lord, but Israel seemed to still be doing business on their own. They assumed God would be with them without asking him to be. Instead of asking God if they should even go to battle, they simply brought the arc of God to their battle. They lost the arc and the battle.Eli and his sons died as a result of all of this.

Application - It’s easy to assume that when things look spiritual, we are doing what God wants. God wants us to bring our lives and plans to Him- to invite him into our daily life. What area of life can you invite God into today, rather than assuming that your actions on your own are good enough.

Prayer - God, I invite you into my day today. May my life be lived for you. I want today to honor you as I live surrendered to you.
